Toxteth TV's new brand identity launched
A very special building deserves a very special identity. And that’s
just what Toxteth TV has been given in a recent rebrand by creative consultancy
Kiosk.
Kiosk has produced new branding for the recently opened £1.8 million
TV and Film facility located in the heart of Liverpool. The centre provides
hands-on film, TV and video production training for young people [aged 13-25]
who are interested in pursuing a career in media; particularly those young
people who have dropped out of formal education.
Funded by the Department for Education and Skills, the centre is also home
to a cluster of small film production and creative companies. And thanks
to a recent ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) grant award, the centre
boasts state-of-the-art studio facilities that attract major clients such
as the BBC.
Toxteth TV’s Chairman, Colin Zee, said: “It is essential that
our branding appeals to young people in the local community, as well as a
more corporate audience of potential clients and funders. Kiosk has created
a new identity for us that achieves the right blend of youth appeal and professional
credibility.”
Kiosk’s Dave Holden added: “The Toxteth TV building is a real
landmark, so we drew our inspiration for the branding from the design of
the centre itself - particularly the striped brickwork of the studio building.
This helps establish a sense of place for the brand, as Toxteth TV moves
from being a development project to a real place where things are happening”.
Ivan Lewis, Minister for Adult Learning and Skills, said: “Toxteth
TV is a really exciting, innovative project which will help around 700 young
people in Liverpool in its first three years. It will give them the skills
and confidence they need to find work or go back to education - improving
their future prospects as well as benefiting the local economy”.
