Website consultancy for Amnesty International UK
We are currently working with Amnesty International UK to improve the accessibility
compliance of their website
www.amnesty.org.uk.
Susie Wright, of Amnesty International’s UK office, said: "The Amnesty
International UK website is one of the main ways that people can find out
about our organisation: about what we have to say about human rights abuses
worldwide and how they can take action to protect people throughout the world
and make a difference. We want as many people as possible to be able to access
this information, so accessibility is at the forefront of all our web development
planning. The team at Kiosk have been helping us to plan and implement a
higher level of accessibility on our website, to ensure that we meet World
Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards."
Kiosk's creative director, Dave Holden, who is leading the project added: "We're
really pleased to be working with the Amnesty International UK team. Their
website is a vital communication tool, so it is important that the broadest
possible audience can access the content within the site."
Recent research by City University and the Disability Rights Commission [DRC]
found that 81% of websites tested failed to reach the minimum standards for
accessibility.
